I imagined this as a YouTube series. I’ve even gone through and recorded a few episodes. But it’s just not my bag (yet) baby.
Why? I don’t relish recording my adventures. I think you have to really love recording to keep up the momentum. For me, it has to be effortless, almost completely passive. While I do like to take pictures of stunning views and weird stuff, and B-Roll can be fun, I'm too wrapped up in the moment to remember to film. It's kind of the story of my homelife, too - I can't remember the last time we went in for family photos. When I'm on the trail, I'm living on the trail, processing real-time and can’t be arsed to recreate my every step just to capture it on film and share it. There are lots of people out there that are better at that than I am. And I LOVE that they do it - keep that content coming - I'm just not the one.
Also sitting in front of a camera and talking. Just no.
So, here’s the Untitled Loop Project in visual word form. For now. Maybe that will change someday.
I’m Victoria and I’m going to hike a continuous 500-mile loop in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I’m not sure how yet, but I’m going to figure it out -AND- I’m going to document each step along the way.
Ok, maybe not every step. But a lot of them. What will you find here?
- Project Details
- Random Musings
- Trip Reports
- Progress Updates
- Deep Dives into my Special Interests
- And sometimes maybe video
Welcome to the 500-mile Loop Project.
